Keyed Alike Locks for Roadmaster Base Plates and Tow Bar on a 2010 Ford Flex

Question:

Hi...I am currently putting together an order to pull my 2010 Ford Flex with my motorhome. I will be using Part No. 4421-1 baseplates, Safety cables Part No. RM-645, and a Blackhawk 2 All-terrain towbar. Do you have locks for the baseplate/towbar connection that can be keyed to this lock. Thanks

The pins that hold the draw bar arms on for base plate set # 4421-1 have a 5/8 inch diameter. You could use 3 of lock # e98882 keyed alike. Just select the the keyed alike option and enter 3 in the quantity box.

In addition to the base plates, safety cables, and tow bar, you will also need a lighting system and supplemental braking. I recommend a magnetic kit such as # C-ATL20A because you will not need to use a brake light relay with a supplemental braking system if you use this kit.

Check the owners manual in the recreational towing section to determine if a fuse has to be pulled to flat tow the vehicle. If it does I recommend fuse bypass # RM76511 to make the process easier.

most states now require a braking system in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional braking system, # RM-9400. It applies the Flex brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking which is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

I have incldued a couple of helpful links on flat towing for you.
