Will The Hands Free Lift Gate Work On a 2022 Honda Pilot With a Trailer Hitch Receiver Installed?
Question:
Can you tell me if I will still be able to use the hands free lift gate on my 2022 Honda Pilot after I install a trailer hitch?

With the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98840 installed on your 2022 Honda Pilot you will need the relocation bracket that you can get from your local Honda dealer to ensure that you do not lose the ability to use your hands free liftgate. This bracket simply moves the sensor from directly centered on the bumper to a few inches to the side which allows for your foot to be detected by the sensor.
The same will be true for the Curt # C13146 Receiver.
I do recommend installing your wiring harness while installing the receiver as it will be easier to route the wiring appropriately. For a 4-way flat connector the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760 should be installed with the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58001. This bracket will allow you to secure the connection without drilling holes in your lower fascia.
For a 7-way the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 should be installed with the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58003.
