Does the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust 10 Inch Electric Trailer Brake Kit Fit the #84 Spindle

Do these work with a #84 spindle?

Expert Reply:

When it comes to finding which brakes fit, it will depend on the drum size of your hub and drum assembly, the weight of your axle, and brake flange bolt pattern. It is possible to use the spindle size in order to narrow things down. A #84 spindle like the # TRU74FR is for a 3,500 lb axle and uses a hub and drum assembly like the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3-EZ.

The # 84546UC3-EZ has a 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide drum which is designed to work with a 10" brake assembly like the # 23-468-469. This brake assembly also measures 10" x 2-1/4" and will fit the 4 bolt pattern on the brake flange that the # TRU74FR has. It is also designed for 3,500 lb axles and 14" or 15" wheels. Assuming you have a #84 spindle for 3,500 lb axles it is safe to assume that you have a 10" x 2-1/4" hub and drum assembly so this brake kit will work for you as long as you also have a brake flange with a 4 bolt pattern.

I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
