Recommended Lightweight Two-Bike Rack for 2013 Acura RDX

Question:

Im looking for a light weight, but wonderful 2 bike rack for my new Acura RDX. I have both steel and carbon fiber bikes. I would like something that has locking capability for both the rack to the hitch and the bikes to the rack. The lower the visual profile, the better, as I would like to be able to leave the empty rack on the car without it being too obtrusive. My max price is around $350, but I sure would like to spend less. Thanks for your help.

Given the parameters you mentioned, the Thule Helium PRO you had looked at, part # TH9042PRO would be perfect for your needs. The rack is lightweight, less than 25 lbs but very rugged. The rack provides an integrated anti-rattle hitch pin locking system as well as an integrated cable lock to help deter theft. When not in use, the arms of the rack can be folded down out of the way, and once the bikes are removed the rack can be folded down away from the rear of the vehicle for easy access to the cargo area. The rack has other nice elements like double padded cradles and anti sway cradles to protect your bikes. The rack is also well within your budget. When you add it all up, it is a wonderful bike rack!

To carry women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.

I have linked you to a product demonstration video showing the rack being installed on a similar vehicle.
