Question:
I am looking to add a hitch to my new 2022 Ford Escape. I saw a Curt and Draw-Tite hitch available for my car and am wondering if one is more recommended than the other. I look forward to hearing back from you.

There are a few notable differences between the Curt # C23FR and Draw-Tite # DT95MR for your 2022 Ford Escape. The capacities are different, but you will need to verify what your Escape is rated for by checking your owner's manual. This can change depending on how your vehicle is equipped. So the first main difference will be the installation.
The Curt will require no trimming to get installed, but the Draw-Tite requires trimming of the heat shield for it to fit properly. The Curt may need the access holes to be widened out a little bit, but that's it. So between the two, the Curt will be easier to install.
Once installed, the Draw-Tite will sit 1/2" higher than the Curt at 13-1/2" (the Curt will be 13"), but the pin holes sits back further from the edge of the bumper. This will be 5" on the Draw-Tite and 4" on the Curt. So you will get more bumper clearance when using a ball mount or other accessory with the Curt.
With that said, the Draw-Tite will have a smaller profile than the Curt will due to the safety chain loops. Between the two though, I would go with the Curt. The easier installation and bumper clearance make it a winner for me. Being American made is just another plus as well.
