Do I Need to Remove My Bumper to Install a Hitch on my 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
On my old vehicle I had to remove the bumper to install the hitch. Will I have to do the same thing to install a hitch on my 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon? It looked good but it definitely challenged me so I'll have to think about whether or not I want to do it or have a shop do it.

We actually have a few different hitch styles that fit your 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon and they come from Draw-Tite. If you go with the hitch # DT94YR then you'll have a cleaner looking install when you're done, but you will need to remove the bumper. If you go with the hitch # DT73RR then the install won't look as clean because you'll be able to see the crosstube, however you won't need to remove your bumper for the installation in this case.
I personally like the # DT94YR because it not only looks cleaner but it also means you have less materials hanging below your car which ultimately means you'll have better ground clearance.
I'm attaching some photos of what they look like when installed for you to check out. If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.
