Do I Need to Lower/Remove My Spare tire When Installing the Curt # C13420 on My 2022 Kia Telluride?

Yes, you will need to lower the spare tire and place it to the side while installing the Curt Hitch - 2" # C13420 to your 2022 Kia Telluride. However, you will be able to reattach the tire when you are done with installation. I went ahead and attached a photo from the installation manual that shows this step.

Unfortunately, we do not offer any hitch receiver that does not require lowering/temporarily removing the spare tire in the installation.

The great thing about the Curt Hitch is that it measures only 4 inches from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside face of the spare bumper. With this measurement, the hitch is perfect for a cargo carrier like the 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # e98874. If you want a locking hitch pin, the Threaded Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin Lock for etrailer Cargo Carriers # e99047 will work perfectly.
