Question:
Hello, I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 mega cab and I want to install the fifth wheel hitch rails. I would like to be able to use the rails for a fifth wheel hitch and a gooseneck hitch. What part do I need?

I have a solution for you, although there isn't any rails that install for a 5th wheel and a gooseneck available. What I recommend, depending on what you already have, is to install a 5th wheel above bed rail kit like # DM8552015-71 and use a gooseneck adapter # RP58079. This adapter will install to industry standard 5th wheel rails like # DM8552015-71 mentioned earlier, and allow you to use a gooseneck.
If you're interested in a 5th wheel hitch as well, the rail kit mentioned above are made for the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550035. This is an awesome 5th wheel hitch for short bed trucks because, unlike most sliding hitches, this one does not require you to leave the vehicle to slide the hitch. This hitch will automatically slide when taking tight turns, and return back to original position after the turn is made; saving you from having to get in and out of your vehicle every time you turn and finish and turn.
Also, I always recommend adding a 7 way to the inside of your truck bed # HM42137, to make plugging and unplugging your hitch much easier. This adapter simply plugs into your existing 7 way and reroutes it to the bed of truck while retaining the functionality of your rear 7 way.
