I have a great solution for you. Even though we do not carry the Thule T2 Classic 2 bike rack, I did find specs from Thule about the maximum wheelbase of the T2 Classic 2. The maximum wheelbase you can use to load on the rack is 49 inches long. The specs I have available for your Townie GO! 8D EQ Step-Thru put your bike's wheelbase at 47 inches. With these measurements, your bike will fit the T2 Classic 2. Also, even with the 49.5 pounds of the bike, it is compatible with the 60-pound per-bike weight capacity of the T2 Classic 2.

Unfortunately, we stopped carrying the T2 Classic 2 here at etrailer. However, we do have a 4-bike version that will also fit your bike's wheelbase. That rack is the Thule T2 Classic 4 # TH9044-TH9046. Since that rack will accommodate wheelbases up to 48 inches and 60 pounds of per-bike capacity, the Classic 4 will work as well.

If you are looking for a 2-bike option like the T2 Classic 2, I recommend the RockyMounts Monorail # RKY10003 (for 1-1/4" hitches) or # RKY10004 (for 2 inch hitches). The Monorail is a very similar model to the Thule T2 Classic 2. It comes with the same wheel-mounting style and the same 60-pound per bike weight capacity. Also, the MonoRail will fit your bike's 47-inch wheelbase.

With all of these options, you will need a hitch receiver. In order to provide you with the best hitch recommendation, please respond to this answer with your year/make/model of vehicle.
