Thru Axle Bike Carrier for 2022 4Runner TRD with Pro Factor Rack

Hey Folks, I have a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro that came with a roof rack from the factory. This system is not the standard side rails but a full rack/basket system it is basically what Toyota used to put on the FJ Cruisers - round tubs for 3 sides of the perimeter and several cross bars that can be moved around. The cross bars have a bit of a curve/arc to them i.e., they are not totally flat, and I am wondering what thru axle bike carriers would work on these bars ...I know there are other bars on the market that have this same shape, but I am concerned about a bike being mounted off camber with these types of bars. So, I am looking at either removing this rack and maybe going with something like a Rhino Pioneer Platform with Backbone ...but I hate to spend all that extra money if some carriers would in fact be suitable on these factory bars. Do you have any recommendations/feedback on this? I think we need to go with thru axle carriers because I dont want the added height of the front wheel on or the height/lack of stability with using fork adapters on a quick release setup. Thank you!

We do have some roof bike rack options that will fit the OEM crossbars system on your 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD.

One of my favorite fork-mount roof bike racks is the Yakima HighSpeed # Y02115 because of how easy it is to load your bike onto it. You can also get the lock kit # Y07204 so that both bikes racks can be locked to the vehicle and bike plus have matching cores so you only need 1 key.

I actually had the opportunity to get this bike rack on a 2019 Toyota RAV4 so I've linked that video for you to check out.
