Flat Tow Set-Up for 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Using Roadmaster Parts
Question:
Hi 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for flat towing behind Motorhome. If I purchase a Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, a Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount - 8K, and a Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, are there any other items I need to purchase to complete my towing package? Do safety cables come with this towbar? Are there any cable kits I need to connect the braking system or the tow bar base plate to the Motorhome and the lights/battery/etc?

For flat towing a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM24VR is a great option. You can use this with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights, # RM-676 that includes the needed safety cables.
You will need the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154. This connects your RV's tail, brake and turn signal lights to your towed car's lighting system providing indicator light functions. Note the linked installation video below of this product being installed onto a 2020 model Jeep.
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, # RM-8700 is a great option. With this, you will want the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751490 too. But if you will be traveling in mountain area, this not my first choice for supplemental braking. Please consider instead the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional, # SM99251 and the Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit for Demco Supplemental Braking Systems
Item # DM66VR. We have a complete installation video of this product on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have linked it below. This is a similar type of system but uses an inertia sensor to detect how hard you are applying the tow vehicle brakes and applies a proportionate amount of braking to the towed vehicle's brakes. The install is overall easier than the Invisi-Brake too.
If you stay with the Roadmaster InvisiBrake , use the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-156-25. This kit allows up to 15 amps from your RV's battery to be used to maintain the charge of your towed car's battery while the car is being towed. Charge line connects to the 6-way or 7-way plug on your vehicle. Requires separate charge line in RV.
