How To Prevent Sag/Squat While Towing or Hauling with 2021 Ram 1500

Question:

I own a 2021 Ram 1500 4X4 Quad Cab Bighorn with a 5.7 and 8 Speed auto trans, while towing my 18ft open car trailer truck rear s a lot , Im at the limit of the trailer 6200lbs on a 7000lb trailer and no matter where I place the car it looks like most of the weight is on the forward axle. It towed ok from Ct to SC but Im looking to load the two axles on the trailer and rear axle on the truck more evenly. Maybe Im missing something , looking for some help as Im thinking this looks wrong , the trailer people told me its ok but they didnt even have me bring it to them loaded. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,

If you are experiencing sag while towing then we have some great options for a 2021 Ram 1500. This is a common problem even for those towing within their capacity. The most popular fix and what I recommend is installing a set of suspension enhancements. These are going to beef up the rear end of the truck while towing or hauling so you won't have as much sag/squat and the issues associated with this. The best type of enhancement is an air bag kit as you can adjust the pressure for your exact load to get the best mix between support and comfort. The pressure can also be easily removed completely when not towing/hauling for a factory ride. The kits are drill free and don't require any cutting. I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57375.

If you want to be able to adjust the pressure from inside the cab you'll need to add the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System part # AL25980EZ but this is not required.
