Can I mount a st205/75d14 tire on a st215/75d14 wheel rim ? Thank you

Expert Reply:
Every tire size has a range of wheel widths it can fit on. An ST205/75D14 will fit on 5, 5-1/2, 6, 6-1/2 inch wide wheels. For the slightly wider 215, it will fit on 5-1/2, 6, 6-1/2, 7 inch wide wheels.
So as long as the wheel width is 5-1/2, 6 or 6-1/2 inches you can mount the smaller tire on the same wheel.
Wheel widths are measured from bead seat to bead seat. This means the tire has to be off of the wheel to measure the width. I have included a helpful link to our series of trailer tire and wheel FAQ articles for you as well.
