Question:
explain why the and rise for this product are not the same dimension. The 4inch rise will work for my application but the description states 4inch , 2 3/4inch rise

The reason why ball mounts like the # EBMK4 have a different rise and drop measurement is because of the way they are measured. Rise is the distance from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform when the ball mount is oriented for greater coupler height. Drop is the distance from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform when the ball mount is oriented for lower coupler height. Both are measured from the top of the shank.
The reason for this is because you use the top of the receiver tube, which is where the top of the shank would be located, when you measure to find the rise/drop you need. The distance from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening is considered the hitch height. Subtracting the hitch height from your coupler height lets you know the amount of rise or drop you will need.
We do have one fixed ball mount with a 4" rise and the same capacity as the # EBMK4 which is the # C43KR. Your other option would be to use an adjustable ball mount like the BulletProof Hitches # MD204.
I have attached a helpful article on how to measure for trailer hitch drop, which also includes measuring a ball mount, for your reference. I also included a link to all of our ball mounts that have a 4" rise that you can check out.
