The most economically priced options for a hitch on your 2012 Subaru Impreza 5 door Wagon is going to depend on whether you have a WRX/WRX Sti or not.

If you DO have the WRX/WRX Sti then the hitch that you want is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11120.

If you DO NOT have the WRX/WRX Sti then the hitch that you want is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11286.

Both of these hitches are made in the USA, have a bolt-on, no-drill installation and will provide you with a Class I, 1-1/4" hitch receiver to use for a bike rack. The biggest thing to keep in mind when using a bike rack with either of these hitches is that the bike rack is rated for use with a Class I hitch.

The Swagman Chinook Bike Rack # S64683 is an example of a platform bike rack that will work with the Class I hitch and the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack # S63400 is an example of a hanging bike rack that works with the Class I hitch.

Question:

Thanks for getting back to me. It looks like the one you are recommending is a 1 ¼” hitch and I’m looking for a 2” It is NOT a WRX. Thanks!

Thank you for that additional information. We only have one hitch available for your 2012 Subaru Impreza that has a 2" hitch receiver. That is the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7211. This hitch is made in the USA, has a bolt-on, no-drill installation and will provide you with the 2" hitch receiver you are looking for.

One thing to note is that this hitch will only fit models with the center knock-out panel in the lower rear fascia. If your Impreza does not have that, then you would need to use the 1-1/4" hitch.
