Does 2-Wheel Drive and 4-Wheel Drive Affect Hitch Fitment on a 1979 Chevy C/K Model?

Question:

why do you list applications for 2wd and 4wd as the same? I have a hitch on a 2wd 1980 chevy half ton that wont fit my 1979 chevy 4wd because the shackle hangers are in the way.

I'm sorry to hear about your hitch! Hitch manufactures customize their hitches to fit particular years/makes/models of vehicles. In rare cases, the 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive style comes into play. With that being said, without knowing what particular hitch you have on your 1980 model Chevy C/K Series or on your 1979 Chevy C/K Series, all of the hitches we carry for both a 1980 and 1979 model Chevy C/K are based on bed length and bumper style.

The only exception to this rule is the Draw-Tite # 40050. This particular hitch only fits 2-wheel drive models of both 1980 and 1979 Chevy C/K pickups.

If you need a fit of a hitch on your pickup, please respond with the bed size on your truck and the bumper you have and I will be happy to find a hitch that works for you.
