Which In-Bed 5th Wheel 7-Way Kit Is Recommended For My 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

Question:

Question for your guys. I just got a 25k B&W Companion from you guys about a week ago for my brand spanking new 2022 F-350 Super Duty Long Bed. It fits the factory puck things perfectly and I have absolutely no issues with it. However, I really don't like that I have to drape my 5th wheel's 7way wiring plug over the top of the tailgate to plug it into the 7way on my bumper. I can foresee this causing paint damage, and I would really rather not do that. So here's the question: Which in-bed harness do I go with? There are quite a few options and one even looks to have different plugs??? Any help and/or recommendations will be much appreciated. Thanks!

First, I want to commend you on going with the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch for your 2022 Ford F-350. Those things are about as tough as you can possibly get and it will definitely serve you well. Now let's get into the wiring.

I always recommend adding in-bed wiring when someone is looking at a 5th wheel hitch as you are correct, draping your 7-Way over your tailgate can lead to paint damage down the road. With that said, I recommend going with a Bargman wiring kit. These have nice sturdy doors that seem to last longer than some of the other options. Now, this is the brand that does have two different style plugs though. But there is a quick and easy way to determine which one you need.

The # 50-97-410-010 is designed to fit trucks that did not include the 5th wheel factory towing package. As you mentioned having the factory pucks though, you will need the # 54701-007-010. This one is specifically designed for this option. This will also include aluminum hardware to prevent galvanic corrosion. Other than drilling a hole in your bed for it to fit in, it's plug and play.
