Recommended Easy To Load Bike Rack For A RadRover Step-Thru 1 E-Bike On A 1999 Pleasure Way Van

Hi, I have a 1999 Pleasure Way van built on a dodge chassis. The van has a back tire, door that swings out and a 2 inch hitch. I need a rack that will be relatively easy to load a 65 pound bike with 4 inch fat tires. I’m in pretty good shape for a 66 year old female, but I would have a hard time lifting the bike and putting it on a typical rack. I hope you can help me! Thank you

For easy of use when loading a heavy bike onto a rack, we go have two great options. First is the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202. This is rated to carry two 65 pound bikes, but with you having 4" wide tires, you will need the Fat Bike Straps # TH985101 to secure them down. The only potential I see with this rack fitting your 1995 Pleasure Way is that tire stored on the back. When measuring from the center of the rack's pin hole to the upright bar that holds onto the frame of your bike will be 8". If this is more than what you would measure from the center of the hitch's pin hole to the outside edge of that spare, then you are good to go with this rack. However, if it is less than this measurement, it will not be the best option.

If this is the case, you will want to look at the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR, which can carry 66 pound bikes. This will not have quite as many features as the Thule EasyFold, but it does also have a ramp for easy loading of bikes. This will have a lot more clearance though, and especially if you are just loading one bike on it as you can put it on the outside tray. You will also need the Fat Tire Straps # Y23FR due to your tire size, but if your spare sticks out more than 8" from the center of your pin hole, this will be the best option.

Just as a side note, neither of these racks will have any issues holding onto a step-through style frame.
