Parts Needed to Install Curt Echo Under-Dash Brake Controller on 2018 Porsche Macan

Question:

i have a 2018 porsche macan with an OEM dealer-installed hitch. there is a brake controller connector, 4-pin, under the dash. i am interested in the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller Item # C27JR, but the connector shown on that unit appears different that what i have. can you tell me if these would work together or if there is an adapter/modification that would be required to allow them to plug in together?

You will be able to install the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller # C27JR on your 2018 Porsche Macan using the factory wiring harness. However, there is no custom wiring adapter that will plug into your factory port so you will need to hardwire it in for installation.

In addition to the # C27JR you will want the Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers # C51515. This will plug into the Curt Echo on one end and you will use the other end to splice into the vehicle wiring harness. I recommend using butt connectors like the # 05732-2 to connect the wires.

If you would like to have a physical manual override button available in the cab of your vehicle you may also want to consider adding the # C83HR. This will connect to your Curt Echo and can be mounted anywhere.
