Why Is The Fulton Safety Chain Rated Higher Than the Buyers Products When It Has Smaller Links?

I was curious if i could get some clarification as it appears the smaller 5/16 chain is rated at higher weights than the larger 3/8 chain. 5/16 safety chain FCHA0050324 rated at 18,800lbs and 3/8 saftey chain 337BSC3842 rated at 15,000lbs. I need a heavy duty safety chain setup and figured 3/8 chain would be better but the weight ratings im finsing on these products conflicts that info hope you can help or suggest another product.

The Fulton Safety Chain with Clevis Hook # FCHA0050324 has a higher weight capacity as it is a grade 70 safety chain that is made of hardened steel while the Buyers Products 3/8" x 42" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain # 337BSC3842 is only a grade 43 chain.

The important thing is to ensure whichever chain you choose that it meets or exceeds the GVWR of your trailer to ensure the chain does not break should the trailer become separated from your vehicle.
