Question:
How much leeway is there in the mounting width for these bars? My rails will be ~54inch apart but I would like to use these 59inch bars, I dont think the 54inch bars will reach. So is there adjustment in where the bars mount to the feet? Thanks

Correct, there are 11.8 inches of adjustment under each side of the crossbar for you to adjust the feet in on the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars like part # RRVA150B-2. Therefore, the 59 inch bar will work great for two mounting points 54" apart.
