Plan to build a customer trailer with the following desired specs -16x7 approx dimensions -target around 5500 GVW trailer dry weight under 4000lb -Light off-road duty likely use old Jeep tires/rims P245/75r/17 Any recommendations on Timbren models, single vs tandem and hub/brake configuration is appreciated.

Since you are planning on a custom fabrication for a customer that has a 5500 GVW, a great option is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Spindle w/ Brake Flange - 7K # TASR7KS01 or the same model with a 4-inch drop # TASR7KS02. A tandem axle system will ultimately give you more support, but a single-axle system will work just fine as it is (especially with a 7k weight capacity).

Since the Timbrens come with EZ lube spindles, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7K lb E-Z Lube Axle - 12" # 42866UC3-EZ. It is important to note that this assembly works specifically with a lug pattern of 8 on 6-1/2, so your tires need to match that pattern.

For the brakes that work with the Dexter hub assembly, the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # 23-180-181 will do the trick.
