Roof Rack for 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab and Roof Rack for a Camper Shell

Question:

I have a 2015 Tacoma double-cab with a camper shell on the back. The shell is level with the cab top. I am looking to put a roof rack on the shell and the cab both. What options do you have. The camper shell is fiberglass and smooth on top.

I would be happy to help you find roof racks for both your 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab and your camper shell. I'll start out with the roof rack for your truck. It is the 2015 Toyota Tacoma Roof Rack by Yakima. These 60" wide heavy-duty crossbars mount to Yakima towers to create an aftermarket roof rack. The top and bottom channels let you add channel-mount accessories. The tie-down points in the endcaps let you easily secure cargo. I have linked a picture of this roof rack installed as well as included an installation video. The Roof Rack Includes:

You will also want to add the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 4) item # Y07204. These locking cores allow you to secure your roof rack and prevent theft.

For your camper shell I recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells - Track Mount item # Y02-490B. These are almost identical black aero style cross bars as the ones on your Tundra. They are slightly shorter at 59" instead of 60". The racks mount to your camper shells roof with T-bolts and do require some drilling. The bases of these Rhino Rack legs easily mount into the included Rhino-Rack RTC-style roof rack tracks with included hardware. Just slide the nuts into the tracks, line up the mounting plates, and bolt the bases down. After this initial setup, you can leave the bases in the tracks.
