What is the Difference Between the Malone Runway and the Malone Hanger for My 2021 Ford Bronco?
Question:
I was wondering what the difference was between the Malone spare tire bike rack MPG2147 and MPG2148 was. It looks like the MPG2148 is more economical, but in the QandA of the MPG2147 it’s says it works on a 2021 Bronco which is the car I will use it on. Thanks.

The Malone Runway Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # MPG2148 and the Malone Hanger Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # MPG2147 are virtually the same rack. The only difference is that the Runway is 1.5 pounds heavier than the Hanger and the Hanger comes with anti-sway cradles to keep bikes from contacting each other during transport. Even though the anti-sway cradles are nice to have, I recommend going with the Runway because it is a more economical option.
As far as spare-tire fitment, it truly depends on what width of spare tire you have on your 2021 Ford Bronco. In order to know for sure, I recommend measuring the width of your spare tire. It is always good to measure because there are a lot of different standard spare tire sizes that come with a 2021 Bronco. If the width falls between 8 and 12.5 inches wide, you can use the Runway.
If you plan to use women's bikes, children's bikes, or step-thru bikes, I recommend the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 for each of those bike styles. The adapter gives your bikes a straight, horizontal plane required to mount to the arms of both racks.
