Yes it will, so long as you also use weight distribution, as the extension has a maximum capacity of 3,600 lbs towing/360 lbs tongue weight without weight distribution, but 7,200 lbs towing/720 lb tongue weight when used with weight distribution.
Assuming 6,500 lbs is the combined weight of your boat and trailer, here is exactly what you will need:
- TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension - 3" Ford Super Duty Factory Hitch - 36" Long # TLE1636
- TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension # TLW6036
- Reese Weight Distribution System # RP66541
- 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 19286
The correct hitch ball will depend on the size of your trailer's coupler, and I also wanted to mention that you may need a pole-tongue adapter if your boat trailer is one with a straight tongue. What you would need for that is the Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter for Weight Distribution Systems # RP58393.
This will work so long as your boat trailer does not have a swing-away tongue, as pole-tongue adapters are not compatible with that type of tongue.
