Towing a Motorcycle Trailer with Separate Brake Lights and Turn Signals with a 2013 Ford Focus


i bought and installed # 118549 wiring harness to my 2013 focus hatchback but my problem is i want to pull my motorcycle trailer i pull it also with my harley anyway the starlight trailer has a 5 pole square plug. the wring on the trailer is this: white=ground, brown=running lights, yellow= stop lights, blue= left turn and green = right turn.i have a 4 pole flat plug to tap into the 5 pole, but am unsure about getting it right. can you please advise?

The issue is that motorcycles and the trailers made for them usually have separate turn signal and brake light circuits. But on trailers towed by passenger vehicles, the turn signal and brake lights are combined.

Basically, you will have to make an adapter. You will need 3 important parts.

First you will need a vehicle to vehicle converter # 118158. Next, a trailer side 4-Way, # 18004. And finally a vehicle side 5-Way, # 20016. It will be assembled like in the picture I have provided using butt connectors like # 05731-5. If the trailer has incandescent bulbs then this harness is limited to 1 brake/running light (dual filament bulb) and 1 turn signal bulb per trailer side.
