Question:
I have compartment doors with cam locks. I plan to cut a hole in the middle of door for a locking slam latch and replace the cam lock with a twist lock. The wall and door are 7/8inch thick. What is the offset distance from the outside face of wall surface of this latch to the inside of the latch plunger? I just want to know if I need to make spacers for the door and latch to the wall. Thank you in advance for your reply.

The space between the housing of the latch and the face of the handle is only 1/2" so the Bauer Products RV Baggage Door Slam Latch # BA57FR isn't going to be a good fit for your 7/8" thick door.
We do however carry the Global Link Locking Baggage Lock Actuator Set with Mounting Plate # GL34FR which can fit RV baggage doors measuring from 0.7" to 1.25" thick.
