What Crossbar System do You Recommend to Use with My Perrcraft Dynasport Aftermarket Raised Rails?

Question:

Hello, a couple of years ago I got the perrycraft dynasport roof rails for our 2008 Toyota Sequoia from etrailer.com. At the time, the only compatible cross bars were extremely large, clunky, tall and noisy I got them anyway. Are there any low profile aerodynamic crossbars compatible with the perrycraft dynasport rails? My rails are, on center, spaced 47.25" from each other and are 75" long. General 'shape' of the cross section is the traditional Perrycraft Dynasport and height is 1.16" while width is 1.72" I am looking for crossbars similar to the Thule or Rhinorack ones that don't have excess bar sticking out and are low profile / look stock. If Perrycraft made one that they sold separately from their full roof rack systems that would be perfect but I haven't seen one yet. Frankly, getting a whole rack may be the right financial answer if the width is enough so I could just cut down the crossbars as needed.

I have a great crossbar option for you. Given the limitations of most crossbar systems of a fixed-length bottom channel, we do not have any flushbar crossbar system that is confirmed to fit your Perrycraft Dynasport raised rails with a spread of 47.25 inches. A flushbar system includes crossbars that do not extend past the feet that mount to the rails.

With that being said, we do have an overhang crossbar system that does fit. This is a system that includes crossbars that extend past the feet. I confirmed with Yakima that this crossbar system is compatible with your 1.16 inch high x 1.72 inch wide rails:

- TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails # Y00147
- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - 60" # Y00426
- Yakima Same-Key Lock Cores # Y07204

This system is an extremely aerodynamic system that reduces wind noise and leads to increased fuel efficiency. Since the Timberline Towers come with a tightening attachment strap, you will be able to make sure that the crossbars are super tight when mounted on your rails. However it is important to note that you will have an overhang on both sides of the setup. I went ahead and attached a video that shows this system installed with the TimberLine towers on raised rails to provide you perspective about the height of the setup.
