Best 5th Wheel Hitch and Wedge for a Reese Revolution Kingpin

Question:

I’m trying to replace a Husky 16K easy roll hitch which broke with an upright hitch. I no longer need the slider as I have a newer trailer with a Reese Revolution kingpin Rockwood 2720 WS.. My truck is a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. 6 1/2’ bed. Regular cab. Don’t know all the options but one I saw on your site is the Curt that would work with my existing rails. I’d probably need the Wedge to go on my kingpin. Would that work? Are there other options?

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115 would be a great replacement for your Husky 16K Easy Roll Hitch. They have identical capacities and both mount on industry standard rails.

Since you are using a Reese Revolution rotating pin box you will need the Sidewinder Wedge for Curt E Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # C16991. This prevents your Revolution king pin from pivoting in your hitch.

To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56071 to your 2009 Ram 2500 Diesel. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
