7-Way Vehicle Connector for 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE w/ Towing Package

Question:

Thanks for your help on the highlander question. However, when I looked closely at the part, it says that it is for vehicles without a towing package. Mine has the towing package. So what adapter wiring kit do I need to adapt the existing wiring with four pin to a seven pin which would add the electronic controller and the trailer battery charger. Thanks.

Since your 2021 Toyota Highlander has the towing package with a 4-flat but not a 7-way vehicle connector you are going to need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Highlander with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. I have attached an installation video of this 7-way harness being installed on a 2019 Highlander. The installation process will be identical even though it is on an earlier model vehicle.
