Which Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box is Better?

Question:

2013 Heartland Road Warrior 400RW with a Lippert 1621/1621HD. Hitch weight= 3200, Dry weight= 14,890, GVWR= 18,000. Would be hauling 2k pound UTV in cargo also. Would the GY38FR and GY58FR be the best choices?

Expert Reply:

Fully loaded your 2013 Heartland Road Warrior 400RW's tongue weight or pin weight is going to be over the capacity of the Gen-Y item # GY58FR. You will want to go with the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY38FR. It has a pin weight capacity range of 2,000 lbs - 4,500 lbs. There is a built in pin weight scale to help you balance your trailer when you load up your cargo and UTVs. The meter lets you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow. This pin box is designed to replace the Lippert 1621 and 1621 HD 5th-wheel pin boxes.

Don't forget your safety chains. The Gen-Y item # GY38FR does not include them. You will need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - 84" Long - 26,000 lbs item # GY49GR.
