The hitch I recommend for your 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT95MR. This has a 2" receiver so it's compatible with a wide variety of accessories and another positive is that this has the hidden crosstube so you're just seeing the receiver for a cleaner look.

If you don't already have a bike rack then I highly recommend the Kuat Beta # B202-2 which is one of the few hanging style racks that have a 40 lb per bike weight capacity. Along with the higher weight rating is the weight of this rack - it only weighs in at a mere 12.6 lbs so it's easy to maneuver around and then it folds up so it's easier to store over other options as well.
