Universal 7-Way Vehicle Connector for a Curt Echo Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4 way wiring installed from uhaul. If I buy a 7 way adapter for this wireless curt echo product, does the 7 way adapter still need to be wired into the brakes, or is the light wiring sufficient?

Since you are using the Curt Echo item # C51180 you will not need to worry about wiring in the brake controller wire but you will still need the power supplied to the 7-way from the battery. You can't power the Echo off of the lights. You will want the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation item # ETBC7L. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Jeep with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
