Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for Bike Rack on 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI

Hello, I am interested in a hitch for my 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI. I do not see the year or model listed. What hitch would work for my car? I need a hitch for a bike rack. Thank you,

We have several hitches that are confirmed to fit your 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI. The best hitch will depend on your bike rack. If you need a 2" receiver then the only option would be the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7375. Otherwise, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24979.

The Draw-Tite is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible from the back. It also has a 200 lb tongue weight to hold your bikes and bike rack. If you don't have a bike rack already, you could use the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. This is compatible with a 1-1/4" Class I hitch and has a weight capacity of 35 lbs per bike.

Keep in mind, you will be limited to 2 bikes on your bike rack with a Class I hitch. The only other option would be a trunk mounted bike rack like the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount # TH911XT. This would allow you to carry 3 bikes with a capacity of 35 lbs per bike and and overall weight capacity of 105 lbs.
