Question:
Can you recommend a hitch for the above car and also a trailer? Just need it to tow push lawn mower, garbage cans etc. I read some place that the new corollas are not supposed to tow? Any truth to this?

Per the owner's manual, Toyota doesn't recommend towing with the 2022 Corolla nor do they recommend installing a hitch.
We can't recommend anything that contradicts the owner's manual, but many folks install a hitch anyway.
If you decide to do so anyway and keep the weight you tow to a minimum, you could install the Curt # C34UR hitch and use a lightweight utility trailer like # K2MMT4X6. The trailer itself only weighs about 300 lbs, and I'd personally have no qualms using such a trailer to pull a push mower or garbage cans locally with my late model Corolla. Would I tow it cross country or up and down hills all day at highway speed? Probably not.
If you decide to go this route, in addition to the hitch and the trailer, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118810, a ball mount like # C45521 with a # PC2 hitch pin and a trailer ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 or # 19258 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
