Troubleshooting Smoking Axle on Trailer

Do I take tire off clean all the grease off and add more grease should thst solve it

It sounds like this is an issue that could be related to your tire, hubs and bearings, or brakes. I'm not entirely sure where the smoke you are describing is coming from, but the tire rubbing on the frame or fender could be one possible cause. I would inspect my tire for any signs of abnormal wear.

Assuming it isn't the tire then it may be a lack of grease on your bearings or the castle nut being way too tight. Either way at this point you will need to pull everything and inspect it to see if there is any damage. You will need to replace parts as necessary.

If your brakes were adjusted with constant contact that could also be the problem. Realistically I would check out everything and make sure there is no damage. It would be a good idea to take this to a local shop and have them look at it as well to avoid further issues.
