In order to replace your axle you will need to know your current axle capacity. In addition to the axle capacity you will also need to know the hub face to hub face measurement to match your current axle. Once you have this information you will be able to find a replacement, assuming one is available. Since you have square axles now and would be switching to a round axle you would also need new U-bolts.
If you cannot find an axle with the same length and capacity the other option is to use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System like the # ASR1THDS01 (2,200 lb) or # ASR3500S05 (3,500 lb). This system replaces your axle as well as your suspension.
In order to switch to electric brakes you will need new brake assemblies like the # AKEBRK-35-SA. You will want the brakes to match the drum size you have now. These brakes fit a 10" x 2-1/4" drum and are designed for 3,500 lb axles. You will also want a breakaway like the # 20400 and a brake controller like the # RED44FR for your vehicle.
I have attached some review videos along with links to our axles and brakes. I also attached a helpful article on adding electric drum brakes for your reference.
