Recommended Brake Controller Set Up For A 2003 Nissan Frontier

Question:

I was planning to get this brake controller: Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Proportional - RED24FR ¿Do I need anything else to get it plugged into my 2 axle trailer? I currently have a plug for non-braked trailers.

To be able to run a brake controller in your 2003 Nissan Frontier there are a few things you would need. You would need a 4 flat harness which it sounds like you already have. If not The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118362 which will plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located at the rear, near the passenger's-side frame rail.

From there you will need The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. The ETBC7 will plug into your 4 flat and give you four additional wires that you will have to set up. The following wires are below:

Black - 12 Volt Hot Lead
Blue - Electric Brake
White - Ground
Yellow - Reverse Lights

I will attach a diagram below.

Finally The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Proportional # RED24FR and The Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR are need to finish up the installation.

The Redarc controller has a 3-axis accelerometer that measures deceleration in all directions for precise braking and for a smooth, uniform stopping action. The controller can be mounted at any angle and will still accurately sense the deceleration of your vehicles.

I attached a couple review video links below.
