Parts Needed to Add 7-Way and Brake Controller to 2022 Toyota Highlander

Just bought a new 2022 Toyota Highlander w/ dealer installed oem receiver hitch and 4 way flat. But I require a 7 way and elec brake controller to tow my rv. How do I know which harness and controller to buy and where to get professional installation?? Reply appreciated.

In order to add a 7-way to your 2022 Toyota Highlander you can use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # TK57VR. This will plug into the connection point in your rear cargo area for installation. You will also need to splice the blue wire into your vehicle wiring and run the body harness to your car battery.
The 7-way also comes with a brake controller wiring harness that will fit Tekonsha brake controllers like the Prodigy P3 # 90195. If you would prefer a brake controller that doesn't take up space in your vehicle and has a nice, clean look I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR.
The main unit of this brake control mounts out of sight so only the knob is visible. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override. You would be able to plug this in to the Tekonsha harness using the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness # 331-TPH-017.
