What is Needed for a Pintle Hook for a Ford F-250 Super Duty to Tow a Trailer Level
Question:
I have a pintle hitch that I use with a trailer for my Jeep that has a modest lift and works fine. I also have a Ford F-250 with a lift that I would like to add a pintle hitch to for the same trailer. I havent measured how much higher the receiver is on the truck, but a would guess a few inches. Can a use an appropriate pintle hitch, or the same one I have if it fits without some kind of bracket, for the truck?

You will want a pintle hitch or any ball mount on a vehicle at the appropriate height to tow the trailer level. To do this you will need to park the vehicle and trailer on level ground and take some measurements. I have included a link to an FAQ article that will help. On a pintle hitch you would need to measure from the ground to opening on the hook part and on the ring measure from the ground to the bottom of the ring.
Once you know the rise or drop you need what you can do is get an appropriately sized pintle mount like # C48323 or # AMPC3. I have included a link to the right with the other mounting plates we offer.
Then once you find one that offers enough adjustment to tow the trailer level you can bolt on a pintle hook like # C48210.
