Question:
Curt W/D- The book said nothing about mounting the snap-up hooks to the trailer. Here is my question, Do you have to drill and bolt the snap hooks to the trailer? The only video I found showed the snap hooks not being bolted to the trailer. But mine have bolt holes. Thanks for the information.

The chain lift brackets that come with the Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17052 have a single 1/2" bolt that is used to secure the bracket to your trailer frame. The instructions call out to turn the bolt until it makes contact with your trailer tongue and then tighten it another 1/4 turn.
The only time you would have to drill into your frame for a kit like this is if you didn't have the room for the standard lift brackets and you needed to install the brackets # C17005.
