Checking Reese Goose Box For Damage To The Air Line and Fill Valve

on our first trip and suddenly our new goosebox leaded air out. it is holding at 20LBS of air pressure. can i fill it unhooked to see if it is holding pressure? any steps i should take?

The Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94720 should only be filled when hitched to your tow vehicle. You can use soapy water to spray on the fill point and air lines going into the air bag to determine if it is leaking under load. If you find a leak here we have the Air System Service Kit # RP86007 to replace the damaged components. This device does have a pressure relief valve that will release pressure from inside the air spring to prevent over inflation. You may have just been to close to the threshold and the relief valve opened to prevent damage to the air spring.
