The factory tow hooks on your 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 will not have to be removed to install a front mount trailer hitch. The fasteners will have to come out but the tow hooks will remain and be secured along with the hitch.
If your truck is a 1500HD then you can use hitch # 65028 that you have referenced. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
If your truck is a 1500LD (light duty) then use # 65023. I have linked the instructions for this hitch as well.
