I went ahead and looked up the owner's manual for your 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and I confirmed with Ford that you can flat-tow your vehicle behind your motorhome whether you have a rear-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive model. However, it is always important to consult with the owner's manual to make sure that you abide by all other flat-towing guidelines put forward by the manufacturer. The manual discusses extra products you need for both drivetrains that are only available through Ford.

As far as the rest of the products you need, those include a base plate, a tow bar, safety cables, a tow braking system, and vehicle tow wiring. For a great setup, I recommend the following:

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 4405-3
- Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520
- Safety Cables # RM-653
- Brake Buddy Select 3 # HM39494
- Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit # RM-152-LED-7

The great thing about the Roadmaster Direct Connect base plate kit is that is simply installs into your Explorer's chassis. It comes with all required hardware. As far as the Falcon 2 tow bar, it allows for you to easily release your vehicle even in uneven ground and simply slides into the RV's hitch receiver without the need of a ball mount. With the safety cables, you have an extra layer of protection in the rare emergency case of a disconnect. In addition, you will also receive the proportional action of the Brake Buddy Classic 3 which applies the Explorer's brakes at the same level that you apply the brakes to your RV. With the tail light wiring kit, this will allow you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your Explorer's lighting system.

I went ahead and attached some really helpful product videos for you to check out.
