Are Surge Brake Actuators Compatible with Weight Distributions Systems

Question:

I have a 2005 trailer with a Titan coupler - 2 5/16 ball with an All American Trailer - Aluminum with tandem axle and disc brakes on both axles. Can I use a weight distribution hitch with this? The coupler looks to be similar to the Part #T4750610 but I have to go look at the trailer see the exact part #. Which weight distribution hitch do you recommend? I read some trailers/couplers will not work with the weight distribution hitch that have surge brakes. Thank you for any information you can provide.

There are many weight distribution system available that are surge brake compatible, I actually attached a link to a page that will take all the systems that are compatible.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup. This also needs to include the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Check out the link I attached that details how to determine tongue weight. Once you know your tongue weight you will want to pick a system that has a range that encompasses the tongue weight of your setup.

Feel free to email me back with your tongue weight and I will help you pick out a system.
