Replacement Disc Surge Brake Actuator for 8,500 lb Boat Trailer

Question:

I need to replace my surge brake actuator. My trailer and boat weigh 8500 lbs. what size should I get? It looks like my choices are 8000 lbs. or 12,500 lbs. with nothing in between.

Since you are above the 8,000 lb mark for the weight of your boat and trailer you would need go with the next highest capacity which would be the 12,000 lb rating like you mentioned. So for that the Titan part # T4750620 would be an excellent choice. This fits the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, has the 12k capacity, has an electric lockout, and has a drop built into the coupler portion.
