Reese Goosebox for a 2022 Sabre Cobalt 38DBQ w/ a 1621 Pin Box

I have a 2022 Sabre Cobalt 38DBQ, and I am towing it with a 2017 Ram 3500, single axle. When we bought the trailer, our dealer pushed the Anderson Hitch and swore by it up and down. Since getting the trailer, weve only moved it about 50 miles, and had no issue. However, we are planning on traveling full time across the country, and Ive received a bunch of negative feedback from the people weve come across. Doing research goes both ways on whether the Anderson hitch is the right choice. We have been looking at getting the Reese Goosebox and using that instead. What would you recommend? And if we go with the Reese Goosebox, do I need to have it professionally installed, or can I install it myself without voiding our warranty. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the picture! I just spoke with my rep at Lippert. He confirmed that your 2022 Sabre Cobalt 38DBQ has a 1621 pin box with a 15,500 lbs capacity. The correct Reese Goosebox for your 5th Wheel is the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter item # RP94720. I highly recommend not using an Anderson Hitch. Especially if you are planning on being on the road for long stretches of time. We hear horror stories about them failing frequently.

Reese's Goosebox is endorsed by Lippert Components Inc. It is the only goosebox that will not affect the warranty on Lippert trailer frames like yours has. I have linked an installation video below that should be able to answer your installation question. You should take a look at it and see if you are comfortable mechanically enough to handle this type of upgrade.

You will also need the Reese Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks - 44" Long - 20,000 lbs - Qty 2 item # RP49151.
