Option to Replace 3,500 lb Trailer Axle With no Matching Length

hello. I have a boat trailer that came in to our shop missing the hub. it has hydraulic brakes, the spring centers are 72 3/4 so I am assuming that is actually 73 allowing for error. I can not get the hub face measurement with no hub on one side, but the flange to flange-outside- is 81 5/8. The axle tube is 2 1/2 inch - possibly 2 3/8 without using calipers to be exact. the spring pads are on the bottom of the axle tube so the springs sit under the axle. I can not find one that matches, what am I missing and what is available? Thank you very much for your time

You aren't missing anything as you have the measurements exact right, there is simply no axle with the measurements you have. There is an option for what is called an axle-less system which are simply bolted or welded so you do not have to worry about finding an axle that meets any specific measurements. The 2-3/8" diameter measurement means that is a 3,500 lb axle, so you can use any of the following:

- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR3500S05

- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs # A35RS545

- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle # ASR3500S06

These are better than standard thru axles due to their shock-absorbing springs, and the fact they work independently, meaning if there is a bump on one side of the road it won't rattle the whole trailer. The trade-off is they are a more premium option but I did want to mention them as something that will work for you.
