Question:
Hi, I purchased the part # HM56200 tow harness system for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited earlier this season and have not been able to get it to work. I have good ground on the Jeep tested resistance to frame and trailer connection to MH is working properly with tester and manual tow lights. Not sure if the relay at the rear lights are bad, but would like help on what I can test next. I checked all connections are wired as instructed to 6 way connector. Appreciate any help you can provide.

You can test the wiring of the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56200 itself. I have included a diagram to help determine where to test. You will want to test the wiring with a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 at the area marked "IN", if you have power there, test the power at the area marked "OUT". If you lose power, then that converter is not working properly. Unfortunately this happens on this type of wiring.
If you find that is the problem, you would be better off going with a diode kit like the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7.
