Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller 2022 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Hello, I have a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE that I would like to install a hitch, brake controller and 7 pin connector to tow my 2021 NuCamp [email protected] 165lbs Tongue Weight 1600lbs Gross Weight. Ive searched the website and have an idea of what I might need. Could you reference me some part numbers for a reciever, wiring kit and controller please?

For your 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE the etrailer hitch part # e23ZR is the best option as it's mostly hidden, has a matte finish which looks nicest, and is priced great with plenty of towing capacity. To install a 7-way and brake controller you have to first start with a 4-way and then convert to a 7-way to wire in everything. For that you'd need the Curt wiring kit part # C56434 which is the easiest to install and most reliable option.

Then to convert to a 7-way you'd want the part # ETBC7 which comes with everything for that as well as to wire in a brake controller. Then for a brake controller the Tekonsha Brake EVN part # TK63VR is a really great option. It uses an inertia sensor to determine how hard to apply the trailer brakes, is very reliable, and also priced great.
